About
My name is Cami Martindale, LPC-Associate
I believe that we all innately strive towards becoming the best version of ourselves. On this journey, sometimes challenges from both within and without lead us off our path, causing anxiety, stress, and dissatisfaction with our lives. We can work to overcome these obstacles by identifying and utilizing our strengths to make small, meaningful changes that compound over time.
Therapy can help increase awareness of oneself, your goals, and the challenges you face in life. Lasting change occurs when we make more conscious choices which lead us toward the most meaningful version of our lives. No matter your beliefs or goals, working with a therapist can help clarify your sense of self and what you want out of life.

I am guided by the American Counseling Association’s Code of Ethics and am under the supervision of Kristin Wylie, LPC-S.

"What is to come will be created in you and from you. Hence look into yourself. Do not compare, do not measure. No other way is like yours. All other ways deceive and tempt you. You must fulfill the way that is in you"
- C.G. Jung, The Red Book
Therapy with me
I draw from Solution Focused, Existential and Jungian theories, incorporate somatic (body) techniques and lifestyle changes to promote a true holistic approach to wellness. I believe that every person’s path to healing is as unique as they are.
My main area of focus is issues related to food, dieting, and body image. This includes eating disorders like anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder as well as body dysmorphia and emotional eating. I also work with general mental health issues like depression, anxiety, attachment, and relationship issues. I also provide support for complex medical diagnoses.
I use a compassionate yet direct approach to help clients explore their lives in a supportive, comforting environment. We work together to enhance self-awareness, identify strengths and resources, and support meaningful change.
My Background
I started my career as a Registered Dietitian, working for over a decade in both the hospital and outpatient settings in Amarillo and in Dallas. I worked with a variety of clients over my career, providing nutritional counseling for cancer, eating disorders, diabetes, nutrition support, and general health.

In my late twenties, I entered a treatment program for an eating disorder and started on my recovery journey. I spent the next several years working to heal the relationship with my body and create a more meaning-filled life.

These experiences in my personal and professional life led me to change careers and complete a second master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My background as a Registered Dietitian and a recovered provider gives me a unique perspective to serve as a guide to others along their path.

I am married to Blake Martindale and together we have two dogs, Zoey and Goldie. When not working, I enjoy reading, baking, needlework, and refinishing furniture.
